The Chapel Hill-Carrboro school district is recognized for its academic strengths, and three of its high schools rank in the top 100 in the nation. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the first state-supported university in America, recently made headlines for its 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship. The UNC Medical system is also located in the heart of the city.

Historic Franklin street in downtown Chapel Hill offers more than 200 restaurants, bars, and retail shops.
