Wake ForestWake Forest is a town in Northern Wake County with an estimated population of 40,000 residents. This Raleigh suburb is located about 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh and 25 miles from RDU International Airport with easy access to I-540 and US 1.
Wake Forest is a community with shops, major retailers and a thriving downtown district. In addition to the six miles of Greenway trails, it is home to ten other parks and community centers as well as three golf courses. Falls Lake State Recreation Park is a 12,000 acre lake that offers fishing, boating and swimming or walking, biking, camping or hiking on the 26,000 acres surrounding the lake.
Every year Wake Forest hosts “Meet in the Street,” an annual festival which draws over 10,000 residents for crafts, specialty food vendors, singers, dancers, and artists. Some other popular attractions include Hill Ridge Farms, a year round destination for families to enjoy old-fashioned outdoor fun. The Wake Forest Farmers’ Market is another community event each Saturday morning.
The community has experienced rapid growth during the last 20 years yet still offers a quaint, small town feel for its residents. Wake Forest offers excellent education opportunities with nine public schools, three charter schools, three private schools and two Montessori schools to choose from. The Factory is an indoor sports and entertainment center that offers ice rinks, a skate park, indoor soccer, an inflatable playground, miniature golf and go-carts.
